Experience & Background
Mr. Joseph Murphy joined NY Finest Speakers in 2007 after a 21 year career with the New York City Police Department.
In 1986, Mr. Murphy began his Law Enforcement career as a Patrol Officer and a plain clothes Anti-Crime officer at the 46th Precinct in the Bronx, N.Y.. He transferred to the Bronx Narcotics District in 1993 and was promoted to Detective in 1995.
As a Detective, Mr. Murphy conducted numerous Major Case investigations. He was assigned to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, and the Organized Crime Investigation Division.
He has briefed cases and conducted investigations throughout the United States, Europe and Africa.
After the attacks on September 11, 2001, Mr. Murphy transferred to the NYPD/FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force where he worked investigating both Domestic and International terrorism until his retirement in 2007.

Joe began his speaking career as a local volunteer in the community. With an overwhelming response from audience members, he realized the tremendous value in educating the public on such issues of importance. With over 2 decades of experience in law enforcement, Joe made it his ultimate goal to follow through on his lifelong passion for helping others. It was then that he decided to pursue a career as a public speaker, and join Thomas Grines in New York's Finest Speakers.
